Chapter Spotlight: IALD San Francisco
The IALD currently facilitates over 25 geographic Regions and Chapters within them that support the interests of our diverse lighting, design, and architecture communities. These interconnected networks provide a way to connect with like-minded individuals, create meaningful programs, and build communities that transcend borders.
In recognition of these hard-working collectives, we celebrate the IALD San Francisco Chapter, who involve and engage with those through the Bay Area and across central California.
This active chapter unites designers from many esteemed and respected firms to participate in events that advance skills and strengthen the camaraderie among these talents.
An energetic trio of volunteer coordinators deftly serve this dynamic local lighting community:
- Haley Laurence, Associate IALD is a Senior Lighting Designer for San Francisco's LUMA design team, and deeply involved in community building and volunteer work. She has served on committees for the IALD Education Trust and WELL, and is on the Board of Directors for WILD as an outreach chair.
- Andrew Moore, Associate IALD has a passion for creating immersive experiences through the use of light. He is an experienced designer and project manager, serving as Associate Director at HLB’s San Francisco office.
- Kyra Traxler, Associate IALD graduated top of her class from the Program of Environmental Design at CU Boulder, and promptly began working in Marin County to design lighting concepts and schemes for clients across the West Coast. While her education instilled a love of love architecture, Kyra has a passion for lighting design and learning how lighting directly impacts and affects humankind.
